The PMTA Leadership Weekend occurs annually in June and coincides with the Board of Directors Meeting, generally convening at the university which is hosting the fall conference for that year. Following the model established by MTNA, the weekend is designed to encourage networking and accomplish the following objectives:
- To better understand the workings of an association.
- To plan for long-term stability of the association.
- To strengthen "The MTNA Connection" -- the link between local, state and national levels.
- To deal with crucial issues confronting the association.
- To determine PMTA's role in the future of the music profession.
- To determine how PMTA can effectively serve the needs of it's members and their students.
